Does parenting seem impossible right now? Are you wondering how to parent while finishing school or working toward other goals?

While these worries are understandable, there is good news: resources are available to make parenting a possibility.

No one ever feels prepared to parent, but at Safe Harbor, we provide resources, services, and educational opportunities to give you the skills and support you need to parent successfully.

How Can I Decide if Parenting Is Right for Me?

Parenting is a life-changing decision. While it might feel impossible right now, many women in your situation have gone on to parent and found it the most rewarding decision they ever made.

Even if the odds seem stacked against you right now, you can be a confident parent. Circumstances change, and what feels impossible today can become a possibility tomorrow.

When thinking about whether parenting is right for you, it can help to ask yourself the following questions:

  • How might I feel if I choose to parent? (Do I have a heart to parent?)
  • What might my life look like if I choose to parent?
  • How might I feel if I choose not to parent?

It can be hard to work through these questions alone, which is why we provide a no-cost options counseling appointment

During this one-on-one session with a peer counselor, you will be given information about your options and the space to ask questions.

Sometimes, you just need to work through your thoughts and feelings with another person, and we’re here to help.

What Resources Are Available to Help?
